Alumni Research Databases

Research Library (Alumni)
ProQuest Research Library provides one-stop access to thousands of full-text periodicals from one of the broadest, most inclusive general reference databases ProQuest has to offer. Search from a highly-respected, diversified mix of scholarly journals, professional and trade publications, and magazines covering over 150 subjects and topics. Access this database through Alumni Network.

ABI/INFORM Collection (Alumni)
The most comprehensive ABI/INFORM™ database, this comprises ABI/INFORM Global, ABI/INFORM Trade and Industry, and ABI/INFORM Dateline. The database features thousands of full-text journals, dissertations, working papers, key newspapers such as The Financial Times, as well as country-and industry-focused reports and data. Its international coverage gives researchers a complete picture of companies and business trends around the world. Access this database through Alumni Network.

Health Management Database (Alumni)
This database is a collection of reliable and relevant resources in the field of health administration, including journals and dissertations.  Subject coverage includes:, health professions, hospitals, law, statistics, business, and ethics. Access this database through Alumni Network.

US Newsstream (Alumni)
US Newsstream enables users to search the most recent premium U.S. news content, as well as archives which stretch back into the 1980s featuring newspapers, newswires, blogs, and news sites in active full-text format. For academic libraries, US Newsstream offers exclusive access to the Los Angeles Times, and The Chicago Tribune as separate databases. US Newsstream also offers one of the largest collections of local and regional newspapers, and is cross-searchable on the ProQuest platform. Access this database through Alumni Network.

  • RIT Alumni can now search a suite of Proquest online databases providing access to thousands of multidisiciplary journals, national newspapers and in-depth business information. This FREE service is provided through the collaborative efforts of RIT Alumni Relations and RIT Libraries.
  • To access these databases, visit the Alumni Network, complete a simple registration and click on "Research Databases".

    Already registered? Log in at the top of the Alumni portal page first, before clicking the database link, in order to be properly authenticated to use the databases. 

    You may not access the alumni databases using a secure, https, URL. Also, other security programs will block referring URL's and prevent authentication to the Alumni databases. For information on how to configure your security programs to work with Proquest, see the Proquest FAQ.

Additional Freely Accessible Databases

NOVELNY (New York State Residents)
Alumni who are residents of New York State can also access a suite of databases via NOVELNY - the New York Online Virtual Electronic Library. You need only your public library card or NY Driver's License or photo ID to log in. Topic areas covered include business, general reference, health & medicine, history and science. SAGE Journals Online
Academic journals from varying disciplines including Health Sciences, Life & Biomedical Sciences, Materials Science & Engineering, and the Social Sciences & Humanities. Click here to access SAGE Journals Online.

Your Library Account

All that is needed is an alumni RIT ID card (available from the Registrar's office).

Use your account to renew library books online!

Your account expires each year and can be renewed by presenting your alumni RIT ID at the Circulation Desk.
