Using the RIT Library: Info for Guests

General information about using the library at the Wallace Center

Public Users

If you are a member of the greater Rochester community and not affiliated with RIT, you may apply for a temporary guest computer account at the Circulation Desk. Please be prepared to fill out a form and provide government issued identification. These guest accounts are valid only for the day of issue. Each guest is allowed 3 accounts per year.

Student computer accounts will automatically convert to alumni accounts upon graduation.  In order to obtain Alumni services on campus, an alumni ID must be obtained from the RIT Registrars office.  If your account is not active, please stop by the alumni office for information on how to obtain an alumni account.

A valid RIT Alumni ID is required to borrow materials from the library.

For more information about alumni resources at the library, please refer to the Alumni guide.

Wireless Access

Wi-Fi is available throughout the library.

Current students, faculty, staff, and alumni can connect to the secure "ritwpa2" network with their RIT credentials.

Guests to the RIT campus can connect to the unsecured "rit_guest" network.

If you have trouble connecting to the RIT Wi-Fi, please contact the ITS Service Desk.
