Booking an Interpreter at RIT

If you need to book an interpreter, go to the RIT-NTID My Access website via http://myaccess.rit.edu/

You can always find a link to this website on the Meet the Librarian-NTID page as well via http://library.rit.edu/instruction/meet-your-librarian/ntid

Once you are on the site, log in with your user name and password. Once in, click on service requests. Then click on Make a request.

You will see Event Type in the right hand column. Check off Faculty/Staff Institute Programs and Services and fill in the form with description of the event, people attending, communication preferences and deaf attendees.

You will see Service type--check off Interpreter. Then click next. Fill in the date/time/room info.

Click next and check off the appropriate box for requesting an interpreter for yourself or for another person. Add people to the request if appropriate.

Click next and complete the request.

FYI, Mondays and Wednesdays are best days for interpreter requests. Tuesdays and Thursdays are the worst days. It is recommended that you give as much lead time as possible, such as one week ahead of time. You can try to book an interpreter one or two days ahead of time but there is no guarantee you will get interpreter coverage.
