Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can a paper be permanently removed from the Turnitin database?

Yes!

Faculty members may request to have a paper permanently removed from the Turnitin database by contacting the Turnitin Administrator (Lara Nicosia at turnitin@rit.edu).

It is not necessary to remove a paper from the database in order to exclude the paper as an originality match on a Turnitin report. If a paper has been previously submitted, a faculty member can exclude the original submission on the Turnitin report by following the steps demonstrated in this video.

If a faculty member still wishes to have a paper permanently removed from the Turnitin database, he or she must contact the Turnitin Administrator from an RIT email account stating the purpose of removal and providing the Submission ID.
