If your students ask why bother citing references and provide correct data?

  • Tell them to take a look at Retraction Watch Website.
  • Even though a journal article undergoes a publisher's peer review process, it can still be retracted from it has been published in the journal, if plagiarism, incorrect data or unprofessional behavior has been reported.
  • Remind them that RIT faculty use Turnitin to check for plagiarism in papers.
