Finding Encyclopedias & Books

This image is a dark blue encyclopedia book cover with a white font title Infectious Disease and Parasite. Infectious disease is my topic today.  Start with an encyclopedia to get some background information.

Type in the keywords in the RIT Libraries Catalog. Use the word encyclopedia when you construct your search. I used infectious disease* AND encyclopedia for my search. You can narrow the results to e-books only.

Some encyclopedias are available on the 3rd and 4th floors and can be checked out. Others are on the 1st floor and cannot be checked out. Many encyclopedias are online. Use the RIT Libraries Catalog in the box below to find encyclopedias and books on your chosen topicWhen looking for books, try the subject or keyword search.

You also can use our reference databases to find books. The databases are linked below.

Search the Library Catalog

After searching the RIT Libraries Catalog, if you cannot find what you need from our collection, look at the right side column and click on Connect NY. You can borrow books for free from university libraries in NY state.
