Checkpoint

Checkpoint Account Creation

As an RIT student you can create a Checkpoint account that is not shared. This gives you access to folders, highlights and notes features. This will be a temporary 6 month account from Jan-July and July-Dec.
First you create an account using the link just below.

Second you need to verify your RIT email by clicking the link sent to your email from Checkpoint User Administration. It will have the Subject line: Thomson Reuters Checkpoint Registration. This email will include your Checkpoint username and a temporary password to access the site. The system will prompt you to change your password immediately. Make note of your new password.

You will now be in the Checkpoint platform under your own account.

Now to access this temporary account you will now use the link below RIT Checkpoint link but you will then logout of the shared account and login using your personal username and password which you set up using the steps above.

Types of Materials in Checkpoint Helpful for Federal Tax Research

EDITORIAL MATERIALS (SECONDARY)

PRIMARY SOURCE MATERIALS

USTR (United States Tax Reporter) The Internal Revenue Code, regulations, committee reports, cases, rulings, explanations, and annotations of cases and rulings.
FTC (Federal Tax Coordinator) All Federal tax laws, regulations, relevant court cases, and IRS rulings and releases.
Citator 2nd Presents histories of Federal tax cases & rulings citing or cited by other cases & rulings.
