Finding books at RIT

Books can be a great source for your project – both for primary source material and secondary scholarly research. RIT has a wide collection of books available on a multitude of topics.

To find scholarly texts on your topic, look for books published by university presses or well-known scholarly publishing entities such as Academic Press, Ashgate, Blackwell, Edward Elgar, Elsevier, Francis and Taylor, John Wiley, Palgrave Macmillan, Routledge, and Sage Publications.

Search RIT's library catalog using the box below:

Sample Summon Search

The search above is an example of combining a proximity search ("clean water"~5) with a limitation to a publisher whose name includes the word university. Not all academic publishers have university in their name, but many do and this is a starter search to help you explore the possibilities.
