What is AI?

  1. Do not upload your personal information like social security numbers, home address/phone numbers etc. AI software still trains itself on entered data.
    1. Do not upload copyrighted materials which are the contents of RIT Libraries databases, journals and books. AI companies continue to use new data to train and develop their AI software products.
  2. Check with your professor about the use of GenAI in your course and research.
  3. Cite the use of GenAI

AI usage Examples

  •  Do not use AI for journal article , ebook research. Instead use AI 's keyword suggestions for research in a library database or with GoogleScholar .  There will be a less chance of encountering hallucinated journal articles/books.

EXAMPLE PROMPTS FOR AI:

  1. I am a psychology major undergraduate student researching global warming for a class research paper. What are some related search topics to explore? Only provide the topics. Do not offer to write the paper.

OR 2. I am an engineering doctoral student looking for search terms to use while researching the human impact on global warming? Only provide the search terms or keywords. Do not offer to write the paper.

or 3. I am a political science doctoral student researching environmental issues impacting indigenous people living in the United States of America.  Which issues should I focus my research on first?  Do not offer to write my dissertation or thesis.
