Students enrolled in fully online programs can have ILL or RIT Libraries items shipped to them by registering as a distance education student in IDS Express and placing the appropriate request. Library staff will verify the student’s status with the RIT Office of Online and Professional Education. Please fill out your profile so you are ready to request books and articles we do not have.
Sometimes, books are available in an online format. You can ask me to investigate, and if it is available as an online book, I may be able to order it. If so, the book link appears quickly within a couple of days. Check if we already have the online book using the RIT Libraries Catalog.
Many journal articles are also available online through our databases. The most popular database is ProQuest Complete. You can check our Journal Finder to find a particular article you need. If we do not have it, then place an IDS request. If there is a DOI number available for the article, this will speed up your request and get the article within an hour or a day. The article will appear in your IDS account within 48 hours or sooner.
If you have questions, you can make an appointment and we can meet via Zoom. The appointment link is available below.
