The Wallace Library is closed as construction on The SHED commences. A temporary library with part of the collection, a circulation desk, public computers and tables to work at will open on August 23rd. More info here.
The library does not proactively add course textbooks to our collection but professors sometimes provide a copy for Reserve and can also request that we buy one copy and have it placed on print reserves. Keep in mind this is a shared copy. It must be used in the building, will not include electronic supplements and will not be replaced if damaged or goes missing. Using a shared print book can be tricky if you have lots of weekly reading or homework/quizzes/tests that are in the book. If your class is using a non-textbook book as a course reading we may have it in one of our e-book databases. Most but not all e-books are cataloged in our catalog. For example our new O'Reilly for Higher Education e-book database is not yet catalogued. More on Textbooks here.
I will be available for consultations by appointment via Zoom. Email Jennifer at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a consultation. Provide 2 or 3 day/times combinations to help find a mutual day/time. Let Jennifer know what you are looking for in a sentence or two along with if you'd like to meet for 30 or 60 minutes. All consultations for Fall 2021 will be via Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent to you with the meeting confirmation.
I will also hold "drop in" hours via Zoom on most Wednesdays at 10am-11am and most Thursdays at 3pm-4pm for the Fall 2021 semester. These start Wednesday, Aug 18 and Thursday, Aug 26. These maybe cancelled occasionally due to unexpected circumstances. If the room is closed during a scheduled drop in, email to request an appointment
