LEAD 306 Leadership in the Deaf Community: Introduction

This guide will assist you with researching your topics. This guide assists in finding articles, using selected databases and websites, and search tips related to these topics. Below is the library catalog where you can type in your keywords to find books and videos. Use databases to find articles -- popular ones are linked below. Summon is a search tool that is like "Google" for library resources and will find books, videos, and articles from various databases.

If you need to find an offsite video, this short video shows you how to request an offsite video (i.e., building 99).  It takes a day or two for the DVD to be delivered to the Library Services Desk, where you can pick it up.

If you are interested in Deaf politicians, look up Gary Malkowski, a Canadian politician. We have a book about him, Deaf Politician: The Gary Malkowski Story. Another person you may be interested in is Kevin Nolan, an American politician. There is a book, From Obstacles to Political Victory. Check out the National Deaf Freedom Association group

If you have questions, feel free to contact me, Joan Naturale - I am the NTID and Deaf Studies Librarian and am happy to help.
