The databases listed below are a good starting point for most topics.  Use these databases if you are researching a larger theme within a genre such as the gender stereotypes of superheroes.

Character/Title-based research

If you're researching a specific character or title/series (e.g. Wonder Woman), use the databases in the box above and then try these for additional character/title analysis.

Visual depictions

If you're interesting in looking at the visual aspects of a genre, such as how female characters are drawn in popular comics, try these databases.
