Adding LinkedIn Learning content to your course

Using LinkedIn Learning videos in online courses

Playing a LinkedIn Learning video in a live or recorded online course session delivered via a videoconferencing system such as Zoom is allowable, as all RIT students have the right to claim a LinkedIn Learning license.

However, please consider the following best practices:

  • Students will likely benefit from watching the video directly through LinkedIn Learning, as they can learn at their own pace and repeat portions of the lesson that need clarification or review
  • LinkedIn Learning tracks individual course completions and usage of videos and courses across the RIT campus, so providing a direct link for students to watch LinkedIn Learning content on their own provides a more complete picture of how many RIT users have completed a given course
  • Because LinkedIn Learning integrates with individual LinkedIn profiles, students who watch videos or complete courses directly through LinkedIn Learning can choose to post that on their personal LinkedIn profiles, which in turn can impact their future co-op and career prospects
