Introduction

Image result for business researchThis guide will help you get started with basic business research on companies you may be interested in working for.

This assignment will ask you to find company information about its mission, vision, history, culture, and policies.  Jen Freer, our Business Reference Librarian suggested looking at how to find mission statements via her InfoGuide

You will also be introduced to a few databases. Information about APA citations and avoiding plagiarism will also be shared. Check out Disability:IN where you can find inclusive companies to work for.

In order to find articles about diversity hiring policies, use the following keywords: inclusion AND employees; "affirmative action" "minority employees" and "diversity hiring policy".

You can also lookup ethnic groups like "African Americans", "Hispanic Americans" or Latinx. Minority groups publish their own magazines which have articles about such companies like Essence or Hispanic PR Wire and related titles.  Look for companies that have been rewarded for excellent policies or practices. Check out the top 50 companies with diversity hiring policies. You may have to go to the company website and look at their Human Resources page to get an idea of their diversity hiring policies.

Check out the following journals:

Human Resource Executive
