Citation Guides

Historians generally use either Chicago or APA  citation style.  Whichever you use for a project, be sure to be consistent. Do not switch between the two either within your paper or your bibliography (works cited).

RIT Libraries has created an Infoguide that offers students a variety of citation style resources. This includes:

  • web resources
  • recommended, free citation generators
  • recommended, and library supported, citation management tools
  • a list of available citation style guides, both print and digital, via the library's catalog
