Early Deaf Filmmakers

When the movie projector was invented, Deaf people naturally gravitated to this medium and shot movies of Deaf gatherings, club activities, and home movies. Here are a couple of early users of film technology.

Charles Krauel: A Profile of a Deaf Filmmaker. DVD is available. You can borrow the DVD player at the library service desk. You can use the request tab if you want to borrow this DVD as it is off-site. 

Moving Pictures, Moving Hands: The Story of Ernest Marshall. DVD is available in the library. Online video available.
