You can use the keywords deaf* AND (African American* OR black*) to retrieve best results. The asterisk * next to the keywords will find variations in the spelling of that word, ie, Deafened, Deafblind, Americans, and blacks. The Sage Encyclopedia of Deaf Studies has a section on African Americans.
