Combining Rich Text Boxes, Database Assets & Links Assets

Rich Text Boxes, Link Assets and Database Assets Together

It is possible to add descriptive, narrative or other text near Link Assets and/or Database Assets to provide conceptual context for patrons when directing them to our resources. Use a Rich Text Box(es) followed by a Link Asset(s) and/or Database Asset(s). These can be reordered as needed.

Unlinking Hyperlinks in Rich Text Boxes

Unlinking Hyperlinks within Rich Text Boxes

Rich Text Boxes (RTF) should not have hyperlinks inside the text. Hyperlinks used in conjunction with RTFs should be Link Assets only that sit just above or just below the RTF.

Why? Link Assets can be updated quickly and globally across the site; clicks of Link Assets are tracked by the system for assessment; if a Link Asset is hijacked or dead or misdirected it can be found and fixed easily; Link Assets are less labor intensive to maintain over time.

The video below shows how to unlink hyperlinks that current sit in the text of RTFs on the system.
