Overview

If you're researching a current topic news sources such as newspapers and news broadcast transcripts can be great options.  When looking at news articles, try to use major news sources that are reputable and widely known. The immediate list below are websites of major news sources from various countries. The listed is intended to be a sample and not exhaustive. There are ton more out on the internet.

It is okay to use local news sources when you need a local perspective, but be careful using commentaries and editorials - you want to use fact based reporting and not editorials or opinion pieces.

Library purchased databases also have newspapers and more!
