There are changes coming to the ConnectNY catalog, the online platform that provides access to resources from a consortium of academic libraries across New York State.
The ConnectNY catalog will be temporarily unavailable from March 12 until August 2021 due to system upgrades that will improve functionality and reduce costs for RIT Libraries. RIT patrons, including those at RIT's global campuses, can still borrow materials from ConnectNY, a consortium of academic libraries in New York State, and libraries worldwide by requesting them through IDS Express. To search for books beyond the RIT collections, librarians recommend using WorldCat (linked just below).
There are two methods to request materials through IDS Express:
You can also email IDS Express at firstname.lastname@example.org for Questions not covered in the FAQ.
If you know which librarian handles your subject of interest click on their name below to go to their contact page. It will have their email, appointment link, and you might even find they are on Chat at the same time you need help.
Not sure who to start with? Use the Chat/Email/Appointments button near the right top of page to contact our Reference Desk.
If the button above is red and says Contact Us that means the desk is closed but you can still email us! email@example.com
Many tools online help people discover books on many topics. Each has pros and cons. No single tool covers all books in the world. Use IDS Express to request books from The RIT Libraries which we do not own. And of course your librarians are here to help!
