Changes have been made to ConnectNY! This online platform provides access to resources from a consortium of academic libraries across New York State.
The ConnectNY catalog is now back live after a short hiatus from March 12 until August 2021. During that break the system was upgraded with improved functionality that will reduce costs for RIT Libraries. Familiar with ConnectNY? Start requesting again. New to ConnectNY? Give it a try? Link immediately below.
Once in the ConnectNY catalog you will have access to basic and advanced search. Try both out to see how they work.
Use IDS and we will search for it at even more libraries! IDS is an interlibrary loan service which can try and locate the book you want and will have it delivered to RIT for you to borrow. Take a look at the IDS FAQ linked below for more details.
If you know which librarian handles your subject of interest click on their name below to go to their contact page. It will have their email, appointment link, and you might even find they are on Chat at the same time you need help.
Not sure who to start with? Use the Chat/Email/Appointments button near the right top of page to contact our Reference Desk.
If the button above is red and says Contact Us that means the desk is closed but you can still email us! libraryhelp@rit.edu
Many tools online help people discover books on many topics. Each has pros and cons. No single tool covers all books in the world. Use IDS Express to request books from The RIT Libraries which we do not own. And of course your librarians are here to help!
