Overview

While much of the information on publicly traded companies is freely available on the company's website, some of the information can only be accessed through subscription-based resources including several library databases.

For information on company financials, locations, products and operations, industry data, company culture, and strategy check out the three databases featured on this page.

Hoover's

Hoover's is an excellent resource for finding company financials, locations and subsidiaries, product and operation details, industry information, and more.  Start with this database.

Vault

The "culture" of a company is difficult to quantify or standardize. Vault provides employee reviews that can be used to better understand the culture of a specific company.  This database also includes summaries of sales and marketing, financial performance, and company strategy.

MarketLine Reports

Business Source Elite includes detailed company profiles from MarketLine.  These profiles contain business overviews, give brief company histories, list key employees and major products and services, and will often include a SWOT analysis.
