myCourses & InfoGuides General Information

Introducing the New RIT Libraries link in myCourses

Starting in Fall 2023 myCourses shells are directly linked to library InfoGuides!

What are InfoGuides?

Librarian-curated guides providing students with course and subject specific databases, books, citation resources,
and librarian contact information.

Faculty can ask their subject librarian to create an InfoGuide specifically for a course. Broader subject guides can also be
connected to a shell if a course specific guide is not needed.

How does the myCourses & InfoGuides connection work?

  • myCourses shells (new and old) automatically have the RIT Libraries link available when using the default Navigation Bar.
  • Faculty can send a request to their subject librarian for a course or subject InfoGuide to be connected.
  • Students are then connected to library resources in their course shell

The image below shows where the RIT Libraries link can be found in the default Navigation Bar.

Contact your subject specialist listed below if:

  • If you want an InfoGuide created for your course
  • You want a specific InfoGuide connected to your myCourses shell(s)

If you want to learn more about how the RIT Libraries button can be moved in your Navigation Bar or added to a course shell that does not display it, contact Jennifer Freer at jlfwml@rit.edu or 585-475-7731. Jennifer is the InfoGuides admin and coordinator of the myCourses and InfoGuides integration.
