NTID History

Dr. D. Robert Frisina shares NTID's history via a video; the link provides more details. See below for the link. RIT, founded in 1829, competed against eight other colleges for NTID to become part of the university. NTID began operations in 1968 to provide deaf and hard-of-hearing students with outstanding technical and professional education programs. Dr. D. Robert Frisina became the first director of NTID in 1967. A National Advisory Group is appointed to assist Dr. Frisina in developing NTID’s educational programs.
