Dr. Robert F. Panara was among the first to teach Deaf Studies classes. He published a book on Great Deaf Americans. This is an example of one of several Deaf Studies topics he taught. He was an associate editor of The Gallaudet Encyclopedia. He was also involved with the Buff & Blue, Gallaudet's newspaper as a writer and editor.
