MTSE 601 Introduction to Materials Science: Citing format & tools

This guide is for chemistry material science first year graduate students.. Its purpose is to link students to free library services, specific subject resource database and tips about successully completing the course and their graduate level research.

Citing tools/styles

  1. The library has a variety of free citation management tools to help you with your research. You can view their tutorials or attend the training sessions, in order to decide which one best suits you : EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero.

LaTeX is a document preparation system recommended by a growing number of academic journals.

The following guide will:

  1. Introduce LaTeX a document preparation system and BibTeX, a reference management tool used with LaTeX.
  2. Provide resources that help explain LaTeX/BibTeX in greater detail.
  3. Provide instructions on how to export EndNote references to the BibTeX file format which will be used in LaTeX.
