The first step in all DHSS projects is understanding what you want to create - be it a classroom project where students all learn how to mark up a text, a graph that visualizes the influx of Beanie Babies in the market in the early 1990s, or a map that shows demographic changes in Rochester in the 21st Century. Understanding what you want to create will help you select a tool to use, or learn skills to develop the project on your own.
The thematic pages included in the left menu will give you an overview of tools (and uses) of different methodologies associated with the Digital Humanities and Social Sciences:
See the Teach Yourself tab for links to tutorials!
If you have questions about tools or would like to set up a consultation to talk about a potential digital humanities project, please contact me, Rebekah Walker, the Digital Scholarship Librarian!
Find the right tool for your research needs using these DH Directories and resource pages. For information on specific tools or topics, view sub-menu pages on the left.
