Mendeley allows you to easily and accurately cite references from your library in your academic writing. Mendeley's citation tools are compatible with Microsoft Word for Windows or Mac, and with LibreOffice for any operating system. Unfortunately, Mendeley's citation tools are not compatible with Google Docs.
Because Mendeley uses the Citation Style Language (CSL), it is possible to customize citation styles to fit your particular needs.
To use Mendeley's Word plugin (compatible with both Windows and Mac versions of Word):
When installed the plugin will appear as below in Word for Windows:
And when installed on Word for Mac:
You can use the Mendley Citation Plugin for Word to insert citations for references in your library, and insert bibliographies of all citations present in your document, according to the citation style of your choosing.
