Deaf Access for AudioBooks

You can use live captioning features on devices like iPhones and Macs to get real-time audio transcriptions or explore Audible Captions

1. Live Captioning on Devices:
 iPhone:
 Go to Settings > Accessibility > Live Captions, and turn it on. 
 Customize the appearance of captions (font, size, color). 
 Live Captions can be used across apps, including audiobooks. 
 You can also transcribe in-person conversations or iPhone audio. 
 Mac:
 Go to Apple menu > System Settings > Accessibility > Live Captions. 
 Customize the appearance of captions (font, size, color, background). 
 Choose to show captions for computer audio or microphone input. 

Android: (details)

To turn Live Caption on or off:

  1. Press the volume button.
  2. Under the volume controls, tap More  and then Live Caption Live Caption Subtitles and then Done.

Tips:

  • If these steps don't work, try to search for "Live Caption" in Settings and turn on Live Caption.
  • When "Live Caption" is on, captions appear for speech in audio playing on your device.

All captions are processed locally, never stored, and never leave your device.
 Windows: 
  Quick Settings: Select the battery, network, or volume icon on the taskbar, then turn on the Live captions 
  toggle in the quick settings Accessibility flyout. 
  Settings: Go to Settings > Accessibility > Captions and turn on the Live captions toggle. 
  All Apps: Select Start > All apps > Accessibility > Live captions. 
  Keyboard Shortcut: Press Windows logo key + Ctrl + L.
