Digitial Scholarship

Digital Scholarship Services at RIT Libraries helps members of the RIT community navigate the full lifecycle of digital projects. From classroom to professional projects, we provide expertise and guidance on all steps: managing your project, digitizing materials, designing content, using digital tools, providing copyright assistance, disseminating or publishing your work, or providing access to available published materials. Digital Humanities
Digital Humanities (DH) is a dynamic, interdisciplinary field that intersects computing, design, and traditional humanistic research methods. DH scholarship combines research and technologies to develop projects that engage the public, navigate research data, encourage interaction, and inspire further academic inquiry.
Digital Projects
We provide classroom instruction in areas related to digital scholarship. We would love to work with you and your classes to develop a digital project to engage your students and the community. Set up a consultation with us to discuss!
Digitization Lab
Our lab works with you to create the best archival reproductions of materials for scholarship and other academic purposes. The digitization lab can digitize rare books, manuscripts, artwork, negatives (of all formats), and more.
DOI Service
Thanks to a partnership with the Research & Computing Office, RIT Libraries can assign DOIs for the RIT community through our membership with DataCite, a DOI registration agency. This service will allow for better citation tracking and access to research, particularly for products of non-traditional publishing.
Open Access Publishing
Open Access publishing provides a viable alternative to traditional publishing for authors who wish to make their work freely available worldwide. RIT Libraries supports the Open Access movement by maintaining an institutional repository and publishing Open-Access journals.
Orcid Author ID
ORCID is a free, unique, persistent identifier (PID) for individuals to use as they engage in research, scholarship, and innovation activities. Learn how ORCID can help you spend more time conducting your research and less time managing it
Presentations & Workshops
RIT Libraries seeks to serve the RIT community by hosting regular events in the realm of digital scholarship. These events seek to engage participants and offer opportunities for community members to mingle, learn, and grow.
