There are some sci fi works with deaf characters or those with disabilities. Here are some ways you can find that literature and videos. Use the RIT Libraries Catalog and use the terms (deaf OR disabilit*) AND "science fiction" to find a few works. If we do not have it in our collection, use the WorldCat (link below) to find your title and order it via interlibrary loan (ILL).

Virus L.I.V. 3 ou la mort des livres (French)
Order via ILL. https://ill.rit.edu/. At the end of the 21st century, Europe was governed by the AEIOU, the Scholars who sit at the TGB (Très Grande Bibliothèque). This organization prohibits the use of multimedia (modern communication techniques), namely computers, televisions, video games, and of course the Internet. The literate world comes up against the world of the Web, represented by the ZZ (Zinzin Zappers) who have developed a virus called LIV3. This virus erases the pages of the book after reading. Libraries, second-hand booksellers, bookstores, books… will disappear. Allis, a young literate, deaf and mute, joins the circle of vowels of the Academy of Letters, not without Celine's reluctance because a screen is necessary to communicate with her. Emma, head of vowels, gives him a mission: to infiltrate the ZZs to find out who has developed the LIV3 virus and to find the antidote. Then she will also ask him to try to find her son Lund, blind, whom she suspects a ZZ supporter. Allis will learn about Lund's multiple identities, namely Mondaye (a web chat friend), and Sonn, leader of the ZZ at the origin of the virus. This virus is a kind of revenge on its tyrannical mother. However, this virus contains in itself the solution to continue reading since it gives the possibility of entering the book universe in Virtual Interactive Reading (LIV). Emma finds her son, the antidote does not exist but the Virtual Interactive Reading makes it possible to read without danger, Lund will be admitted to the Academy of vowels. Allis and Lund will live together, she will have an implant that will allow her to hear, and Lund will have artificial eyes.

Silent Fear (a Novel Inspired by True Crimes)
by
When you can't hear...death comes silently. Scotland Yard detective Valerie Crowther is assigned to investigate the murder of a student at a university for the Deaf in London, England. The murder investigation coincides with a deadly flu virus outbreak, resulting in the university being quarantined from the outside world. When more Deaf students are murdered, it becomes clear there is a serial killer operating within the sealed-off university. A chilling cat-and-mouse game evolves as the unknown killer targets Valerie and the virus claims more lives. A stunning, claustrophobic, "whodunit" murder mystery, Silent Fear (A novel inspired by true crimes) is the eighth novel by father-and-son writing team Lance & James Morcan. Included is a commentary by Deaf filmmaker Brent Macpherson on the unique aspects of Deaf culture the story covers. Together, the Morcans and Macpherson are currently developing a feature film adaptation of Silent Fear.
