Deaf Art Collections: Blondeel, Sander (Belgian)

This video is available courtesy of Patti Durr's Deaf Art, Deaf Artists website. Belgian stained glass artist Sander Blondeel was born Deaf to a hearing family. His father was also a stained glass artist. Blondeel< trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent where he received two masters of fine arts degrees--one in oil painting and one in art restoration. Blondeel's work incorporates an interest in architecture and perspective. He has produced several commissioned pieces in Belgium and abroad, including windows for St. Francis of Assisi Deaf Catholic Church in Maryland, Gallaudet University, and RIT's National Technical Institute of the Deaf.
