The Wonderful World of Oz: April 19-22 & 27-28, 2018

NTID Performing Arts and MSM Productions Ltd. presented a magical performance at Panara Theatre during NTID’s 50th Anniversary reunion celebration, held June 28–July 1.

Adapted and directed by RIT/NTID alumnus and former faculty member Jim Orr, the show offers a fully accessible American Sign Language and spoken-English interpretation of L. Frank Baum’s classic story. The set was designed by RIT/NTID alumnus Ethan Sinnott.

Several NTID alumni contributed to both the live performance and the integrated video segments, with a few surprises planned for audiences.

The production is co-sponsored by MSM Productions Ltd., and attendees at the April and June performances will receive special keepsake playbills.

Matthew S. Moore—alumnus, president of MSM Productions Ltd., and founder and chair of the NTID Performing Arts Advisory Committee—provided sponsorship and in-kind support.

“This is a major milestone for our theater program,” said Moore. “NTID has produced many exciting productions over its first 50 years. In the next 50, we will take on more large-scale projects that invite participation from students and community members.”
