NTID Theatre welcomed Freda Norman, a guest star from the National Theatre of the Deaf and a lead in the international touring company of the Broadway show Children of a Lesser God, to perform as Dolly Levi alongside RIT/NTID students.
Freda Norman was renowned as one of the most talented Deaf actresses, with notable roles in several films and stage productions. She was a member of the National Theatre of the Deaf, Deaf West Theatre, and DEAF Media. Norman performed alongside distinguished actors such as Bernard Bragg, Patrick Graybill, Phyllis Frelich, Linda Bove, and others. She was also featured in the PBS television program Rainbow's End, where she portrayed SuperSign, the first Deaf superhero.
