The EET production of Alice in Wonderland won first place for "Most Outstanding Long Play" at the New York State Theatre Festival, and Jim Orr received the award for "Best Supporting Actor" in Oswego, N.Y. The production was subsequently invited to the regional finals of the American College Theatre Festival, Region XII, in Fredonia, N.Y., where it was awarded "Best Play."
NTID Theatre instructor Marjorie Pratt directed the production and adapted the script from Lewis Carroll’s novels Alice’s Adventures Underground, Alice’s Adventures Through the Looking Glass, and Alice in Wonderland. She translated the script into sign language with the assistance of NTID student Ed Kelly and former National Theatre of the Deaf member Paul Johnston.
