The production of Stephen Schwartz’s riveting Broadway hit Godspell was directed by Luane Davis Haggerty and staged at several venues, including NTID’s 1510 Lab Theatre, Geva’s Nextstage, and the Lexington School for the Deaf. The cast delivered a unique performance featuring both Deaf and hearing actors, offering a colorful and fantastical visual interpretation.
Godspell has long been cherished for its vibrant portrayal of the final day of Jesus, as recounted in the Gospel of Matthew, set against the backdrop of modern-day New York City. This special arrangement blended classic musical theatre with signing and dancing, resulting in a truly distinctive version of the show.
