Sunshine History

Sunshine Too was a professional traveling theatre troupe affiliated with the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). The troupe offered performances and workshops suitable for audiences of all ages. Each Sunshine Too production was uniquely tailored for various settings, including public schools, schools for the Deaf, colleges, adult groups, and civic organizations.

Each year, Sunshine Too:

  • Presented more than 650 performances and workshops for approximately 70,000 people

  • Performed in at least 26 states and Canada

  • Produced television commercials and special programming

  • Conducted residencies sponsored by state Departments of Education

  • Appeared at public schools, colleges, state schools for the Deaf, Deaf clubs, civic groups, and national and regional conferences
