In March 2020, RIT closed its campus and shifted all classes to remote learning as the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the country. All campus events were canceled, and students, faculty, and staff had to navigate a new reality of virtual classrooms and online interactions. By the fall semester, the university adopted a hybrid model, offering courses online, in a blended format, or in-person, with students able to participate remotely if they could not attend on campus. Even though some campus operations resumed, in-person interactions remained limited, and safety precautions were strictly enforced, marking a cautious and carefully managed return to academic life.
